On the occasion of the exhibition marking the 100th anniversary of Luigi Pintor’s birth, co-founder of the Italian magazine il manifesto, Emanuele Cappelli was invited to create an original poster as part of a collective project involving 25 designers and artists, each asked to interpret one of Pintor’s editorials with complete creative freedom.
Drawing from the text Laugh, Clown (Ridi, pagliaccio), the poster translates the author’s bitter irony and critical thinking into an essential and symbolic visual sign, where design becomes a tool for reflection rather than representation. The project is part of the exhibition curated by Davide Luccini, which brings the relevance of Pintor’s thought into the present through contemporary visual languages.
Irony
as a form of resistance.
