For the 4ᵗʰ edition of the RUFA Contest, we designed a dynamic identity that brings together space, time, and people. An experiential system built around the vision of Shirin Neshat, Iranian visual artist based in New York, Guest of Honour and Chair of the Jury, who led the selected students through a journey of reflection, dialogue, and openness.
The theme — “SOUND, SPACE or TIME in White and Black” — explores contrast as a form of expression: opposition and harmony, absence and presence, silence and movement. The scenographic installation emerged from this very tension. Ninety-eight suspended luminous spheres formed fluid geometries that descended from the ceiling, interacting with the naked bodies of three dancers in a choreography of light, motion, and meaning.
The project was developed using our Dynamic brand methodology: an identity conceived not as a fixed sign, but as a living relationship between disciplines, contexts, and audiences. The visual system adapts across platforms — stage, video, digital space, and shared experience — creating connections that evolve over time. The Contest becomes a space of cultural exchange and visionary energy.
Conceived by Emanuele Cappelli and promoted by RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts, the RUFA Contest is a cultural format that each year engages 25 selected students invited to interpret a theme through art, design, cinema, dance, and music. The Guest of Honour leads a masterclass and personally awards the winner during the public ceremony — turning the stage into a moment of intergenerational, international, and interdisciplinary dialogue.
